Matrix helps track evidence, its relevance, and quality, in relation to possible explanatory models.

  • Evidence rating rates quality of evidence (0 is very poor, 3 is high quality; criteria can be decided together).
  • Arrows show support of models by evidence, and level of strength for that support.
  • It is possible for evidence to be strongly supportive, while also low quality. Mapping the support (in small groups) can be used to support discussion about the best model, and reasons for this.
